Estos Gritos

Combining Rock en Español with 70s-style proto-punk, garage and new wave, Estos Gritos formed in the crucible of the 2020 New York City Covid-19 shut down. Venezuelan natives José Miguel Lopez and Alvaro Benavides enlisted multi-instrumentalist/producer Chris Stromquist to help them craft an album of punk-styled songs based on Lopez’s poetry.

Bright Brown is sonic cinema. Bittersweet layers and textures abound, and beautifully crafted songs exist at the core. Alex Nahas’ verse boldly chooses to sit “between the meager and the mundane” elevating the everyday. He generates a broad sonic palette on the rarely seen, Chapman Stick conjuring up a filmic landscape.

I’m a creep! I’m a weirdooooo… I DO belong here! A comedy open mic for anybody who’s ever been described as slightly offputting. Every Sunday at 3:00PM at Pete’s Candy Store. 3 minutes for standup, 4 for characters, and 5 for everybody if Mark Duplass shows up.

The Open Mic at Pete’s has been running for almost 25 years and has provided a springboard for many a New York performer, now booking gigs around the city and beyond. Join host Bruce Martin in Pete’s intimate music room for a lively night of performances. Sign up is at 4pm and music starts at 5pm.

Dylan Charles is an indie-folk/rock singer-songwriter and producer based in New York City. His songs blend soulful lyrics and powerful vocals with dynamic and intricate guitar playing.
DAHNA: Terra Incognita

DAHNA is a New York City-based singer and songwriter mixing jazz, pop, R&B, and groove into a fresh, upbeat sound. Her music draws on years of jazz and world music studies, blended with her love for ’90s hits, creating a unique style that’s catchy and thoughtful.

Call it a one-night only supergroup of sorts, featuring a few of Brooklyn’s finest instrumentalists who you’ve probably seen backing your local faves.

One Night Stand

A series of tales and feelings about one night stands through poetry, song, stand up and storytelling. Proceeds go to Sister Song to support reproductive justice.

Todd has toured with Crosby, Stills & Nash, and shared the stage with musical giants such as Jackson Browne, James Taylor, Bonnie Raitt, Neil Young, John Mayer, Joe Walsh, Donald Fagen, Brandi Carlile, Norah Jones, and Doyle Bramhall. Todd’s versatility on both the organ and piano has made him an integral part of some of the most renowned acts in the world, and he’s now set to release an album that blends the bluesy, gritty groove of the classic jazz organ trio with a more cinematic, modern approach.
